Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 November 2026.
These terms cover your use of gympal.com.au and the training programs, subscriptions and other services we provide (together, "the service"). By signing up or paying, you agree to them. GymPal (ABN 45 426 431 682) is based in Queensland, Australia.
Who this is for
Our programs are for people aged 18 and over. By signing up you confirm you are at least 18, and you are responsible for the information you give us.
What you are buying
A written training program built from the information you give in your intake form and monthly check-ins. Subscription plans deliver a new four-week block each month. Your new block is built from your check-in. If you don't check in, your current program stays and billing carries on. You can cancel any time, or pause as set out under Pausing below. One-off plans deliver a fixed 4, 8 or 12-week program as a single purchase.
If something in your program doesn't match what you told us (for example, equipment you don't have), email us and we'll correct it. You can also swap exercises yourself on your program page, on any exercise that shows swap options.
How your program is made
Programs are put together with the help of an automated system that uses AI, built around your answers and a qualified personal trainer's own programming rules and safety checks. Your answers are sent to an AI service to do this (see our Privacy Policy).
Programs are generated and delivered automatically without an individual review, unless our automatic safety checks flag something, in which case a trainer reviews it first.
Our programs are for people who are fit and healthy. If you have an injury, pain or medical condition, or one a doctor hasn't fully cleared, or you answer Yes to a screening question, you can't sign up until a doctor has cleared you. We never build a program around an injury or condition.
Health and safety
The program is general fitness guidance. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from your doctor or another health professional. We do not provide medical, rehabilitation or nutrition advice.
- You confirm you are in good health to exercise, and that you have answered the intake and check-ins honestly, including about any injury, pain or condition.
- Before every new block, your check-in asks about your health, and you confirm you're still fit and healthy. If you report new pain, an injury or warning signs, your program pauses until you tell us you're back to normal. For warning signs, that's once a doctor has checked you, and your sessions are hidden until then. On a monthly subscription you can pause your payments for free while it's paused, for up to 3 months.
- See a doctor before starting if you have any medical condition, injury or doubt, or if you have ever had chest pain, dizziness, a heart condition or a bone or joint problem made worse by exercise.
- Warm up, use loads and technique that suit you, and stop and get advice if you feel pain, dizziness, breathlessness or anything that doesn't feel right.
Exercise carries a risk of injury. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk, including the risk of injury or, in rare cases, death. This does not exclude liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for reckless conduct.
Results depend on many things, including your effort, recovery and circumstances. We do not promise any particular result.
Program Plus
Program Plus includes everything in Program, plus these tools, available while your Program Plus subscription (including its free trial) is active:
- 30-minute sessions, a how-you-feel check, and a guided warm-up and cool-down. These change how a session is laid out for that day. Stop if anything hurts, and see a doctor if pain doesn't settle.
- Rebuild any time. You can change where you train, how many days a week, your session length or your equipment and get a new block, up to 2 times a month (counted from your billing date) and once during your free trial, at least 24 hours apart. At least one answer has to change. Changes to your health or an injury go through your check-in instead. A rebuild doesn't change your check-in date.
- Goal and event blocks. You can set one goal at a time (such as an event date or a target lift), and your blocks are built around it. We don't promise you'll reach it. With "Strength for your event", we build only your gym sessions: your own running, riding or swimming plan stays yours, and we don't write or check it.
- Progress report. An email at the end of each month of training. You can turn it off with the link in the email.
Changing between Program and Program Plus. You can add Program Plus, or switch back to Program, from your program (Account). We email you a link to confirm each change, so only you can change your plan.
- Adding Program Plus starts it as soon as you confirm. In your free trial, it's free until the trial ends. After the trial, your next payment includes the difference between the two plans for the rest of that billing month, and we show you the exact amount before you confirm. On a yearly plan after its free trial, email us to add it.
- Switching back to Program takes effect at your next payment. You keep Program Plus until then, and from then you pay Program's price. We don't refund part of a month.
Subscriptions, free trials and payment
- Payments are taken by Stripe, in Australian dollars. We never see or store your card details.
- Free trial. Program and Program Plus subscriptions start with a free 28-day trial. We collect your payment details when you sign up, and you are not charged until the trial ends. If you cancel before it ends, you won't be charged.
- Renewal. After the trial, your subscription renews automatically each month (or each year, if you chose annual) at the price shown when you signed up, until you cancel.
- Price changes. If we change the price of your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails we will email you, and Stripe will try again automatically. Your program stays available, but check-ins and new blocks are paused until payment is sorted. If it still can't be taken, your subscription may end, and your program link will stop working.
- Cancelling. You can cancel any time, including during the trial, using the Manage subscription link in your program email or on your program page, or by emailing us. Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period (or your free trial), so you keep full access until then and won't be charged again. After that, your program link stops working and no new blocks are built. See our Refund Policy.
- Pausing. Once your free trial has ended, a monthly subscription can be paused for one or two months, once every six months, using the Manage subscription link. We email you a link to confirm it. You aren't charged while it's paused, and your program stays available, but check-ins and new blocks wait until it restarts. It restarts automatically on the date you were given, and we email you a week before. Yearly subscriptions can't be paused.
- One-off plans are a single payment. There is nothing recurring to cancel, and your program link keeps working.
Delivery
Delivery is usually within minutes of a completed order. If our safety checks flag something, a trainer reviews it first, usually within 48 hours. If it's going to take longer, we'll let you know. Programs are delivered by email as a private web link. Delivery times are estimates.
Your program is for you
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use your program for your own training. Please don't resell, share, copy or publish it, and keep your private link to yourself, because anyone who has the link can open your program. We own the content, systems and materials we provide.
Exercise demonstration links may take you to third-party videos, such as on YouTube. We don't control those sites or what they show.
Reviews
If you leave a review, you choose whether we may show it, with your first name, on our website. We only publish reviews you have agreed to, and we don't change what they say. We publish good and bad reviews alike, and only leave out ones that are offensive, off-topic, or share someone's private details. You can ask us to remove yours at any time.
Inviting friends
- While you have a subscription (including during your free trial) or a free membership, your program page shows your personal invite link.
- A friend who signs up through your link gets the same 28-day free trial as everyone else, and pays the normal price after it.
- Your free month. When they make their first payment (after their free trial, or straight away for a one-off program), we add a credit equal to one month at your plan's monthly price to your account. It comes off your next bill automatically, and any left over comes off the bill after. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or refunded.
- If your membership is free. You get 30 days of Program Plus for each friend's first payment instead. These days have no cash value and can't be transferred.
- There's no credit or Program Plus for signing yourself up, for a friend using the same email address or payment account as you, or if your subscription has ended, is cancelling or has an unpaid bill when they pay. You can earn up to 12 free months (or months of Program Plus) in any 12 months.
- Share your link with people you know. Please don't spam it, use it in paid ads, or say things about us that aren't true.
- We may change or end invites at any time. Credits and Program Plus days you've already earned stay on your account.
Buddies and club boards
Buddies and club boards are optional, for members aged 18 and over, and only show you to other members who have also joined: at your own club when it has its own boards, and otherwise other GymPal members.
- Your nickname, your Spotter's name and the name of a buddy goal must be a first name or a made-up name, or for a goal, a few plain words. No surnames, nothing rude, and nothing pretending to be someone else. We may change or remove a name that breaks this.
- Be decent. Don't use buddies or boards to harass anyone, ask for money, sell anything or recruit people for another business. Don't make more than one account to get around a block.
- Meeting in person is up to you, at your own risk. Meet at your gym. Your gym isn't responsible for buddies or boards, and nor is anyone else at your club.
- Blocking is instant and silent: the other person isn't told, and you stop seeing each other.
- Reporting: tap Report on anyone's name. We look at every report and may remove someone from buddies and boards, or end their access to the service if it's serious.
- Points and places are just for fun. There are no prizes, and nothing can be bought or swapped. Belts, titles and badges are earned by training only. They can't be bought, sold or swapped, and they have no cash value.
- Lift scores are your actual 1RM: the heaviest single (1 rep) you've logged. Log honestly. Lifting a max is your choice: warm up, use a spotter or safety arms, and stop if anything hurts. We may hold back or remove a score that looks wrong.
- We can change how points work, or switch buddies and boards off, at any time.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, including that our services will be provided with due care and skill. Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage that results from your use of a program unless it was caused by our failure to provide the service with due care and skill, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will email active subscribers at least 30 days before a material change takes effect, and if you don't agree with it you can cancel before it does. A change never applies to a billing period you have already paid for.
Ending access
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by sharing or reselling your program. If your private link is shared or leaked, we can replace it with a new one and the old link will stop working. If we end your access for any other reason, we will refund the part of any payment that covers time you can no longer use.
Complaints
If something isn't right, email support@gympal.com.au. We will reply within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact your state or territory consumer protection agency or the ACCC.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This doesn't affect any consumer protection rights you have under the law where you live.
